Tools for Change

Framework for Organizational Change:  This framework identifies critical components for organizing and implementing organization change on diversity.

Catalyst Team A Diversity Catalyst Team is a task force made up of a representative group from every sector of the organization.  This team encompasses members of all group identities across the range of differences that include but are not limited to gender, race, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, abilities, class, rank, tenure, and age.  The team is supported by the organization to work together to design the vision and the implementation strategies that create the climate for change.  The team works in partnership with the administrative leadership to actualize the strategies, and serves as a resource to the system on diversity and multicultural organizational development.

Climate Assessment:  A goal oriented assessment of the systemic or departmental environment for any number of dimensions of diversity.

Building Relationships Among the Land-Grant Institutions Creating and maintaining strong collaborative relationships among the 1862, 1890 and 1994 land-grant institutions.  A useful historical perspective on the establishment of 1862, 1890 and 1994 land-grant institutions and their three-fold mission may be found at www.nasulgc.org/publications/land-grant/development.htm

Diversity Award:  Annual recognition of individuals, teams, programs or efforts that recognize work in any number of diversity areas.

Recognizing Diversity in Performance Appraisals:  Institutionalizing diversity accountability.  Measuring and rewarding diversity competencies and actions through the performance appraisal process.
