ADMINISTRATION INTERN
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Plan, direct and systematically evaluate the programs Child
Development, Family Child Care, Youth, School Age Centers and Community Center
programs, ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of
organizations.
- Assist in structuring the assignments and review work of staff based on
priorities and deadlines
- Assist in ensuring strict compliance with security, safety, and health
procedures and regulations
- Assist in reviewing staff developmental needs and providing assistance and
training–formal or informal - to maintain and improve performance
- Assist in serving as the official host and coordinating, conducting, and
participating in tours and briefings as well as writing newspaper articles
and updating web sites to promote the program
- Assist in reviewing financial reports and operational statements to ensure
accountability
Assist with administrative procedures and management of the following
activities:
- Child Development Center
- Family Child Care Program
- School Age Program
- Youth Open Recreation Program
- Youth Sports Program
- Community Center
- Food Service
- Resource management - people, money and materials
- Staff scheduling
- Budgeting
Assist with public relations
- Advertising and marketing
- Parent participation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Sophomore, junior, senior, graduate students
- University forms and pre-requisites
- Air Force base forms
- Two references - Faculty recommendation and one other
- Security clearance, FBI fingerprint check (completed by base)
EXPECTATIONS
- Journaling
- Project - developed with University if required
- Evaluation of close out experience
- Exit interview - key questions asked

LENGTH OF TIME: CONTACT HOURS
- Total time - negotiable based on student need (ranges: 1 day per week to
full semester)
- Hours per week - negotiable based on student need (range: 2 hours to 360
hours)
