needs and interests of children.

Facility
Description A state of the art facility opened in 1995 that includes15
activity/care rooms and a large multipurpose room, an industrial kitchen
and conference/ training room. The center was designed to meet the needs
of Alaska’s harsh climate and accommodate children with special needs.
Includes 3 age appropriate playgrounds.
Programs:
Program provides hourly and fulltime care as well as part-day preschool.
Conducts "Give Parents a Break" twice monthly.

Overview/Mission: To provide affordable, quality before and after school
programs, as well as full-time summer camp and school break care for
children 6-12 years old for working AF parents.

Staff: 15 program staff, 1
cook, 1 clerk and 1 School Age Coordinator. A Training and Curriculum
Specialist serves the SAP and FCC programs.

Facility Description: Bldg.
3303 is a stand alone school age care facility with 5 specialty activity
rooms dedicated to children’s special interest areas. Children have the
freedom to move throughout the facility by utilizing a centralized choice
board. The facility also has a kitchen and 3 age appropriate play grounds.
Special
Features: The program incorporates numerous Boys and Girls Club of America
programs and activities to include: Power Hour, Smart Girls, Fine Arts
Program and Project Learn.

Youth

Mission: To
provide AF youth recreational and educational programming on a daily
basis. Programs provide opportunities for youth to develop their physical,
social, emotional, and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement,
leadership, enjoyment, friendship and recognition.
Programs: The Youth Center
is a Boys and Girls Club of America affiliate. Programs are offered in 5
core areas: character and leadership development; the arts; youth sports,
fitness, and recreation; health and life skills; and education and career
development. Programs are available to youth 5 -18 year olds

Staff: 8 Recreation aides, 1 youth programmer, 1 teen coordinator, 1
sports director, and a Youth Programs director
Capacity: 300 children
between the ages of 5-18 years
Facility Description: The
facility includes a teen center, gymnasium, homework center, computer lab,
open recreation ballroom, snack bar and smaller rooms for meetings and
music instruction.
Special Features: Program
also offers a seasonal skate park and miniature golf course. Program was
selected as a Project Learn site offering an extended learning
center/homework lab/computer lab. Many youth are actively involved in
community service projects in conjunction with Boys and Girls Club
programs, Club Service and the Yes program. Newest programs include
Project Night Hoops and Bonnie Raito Guitar Program.

Family Child

Mission: To provide an additional child care option to the Eielson
community in addition to center programs. Licensed child care is offered
in military housing units to children 6 weeks to 12 years old.
Number of Homes: Typically
around 40-45
Capacity: FCC providers may
care for up to 6 children at one time
Special Features: FCC homes
offer flexible care options that include daytime, nighttime, weekend,
part-time, hourly, and fulltime care. Special programs include Extended
Duty Care (EDC), Child Care for Volunteers, and Child Care for PCS.
Program includes an expansive lending library with a wide variety of items
utilizing a bar coded lending system.

Mission: To provide leisure and recreational activities and programs to
families, singles and retirees.
Facility: Features a
well-utilized indoor playground as well as computer lab, game room,
conference and party rooms, TV room and more.
Programs are diversified and
include cross programming initiatives with outdoor recreation, fitness
center and the youth center.
