Mission statement- to provide developmentally appropriate activities which
enhance the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of the young
children we serve. Through a
safe, nurturing environment and maintaining open communication with
parents, we build parent confidence, enabling the parent to fulfill their
mission requirement of readiness.
Accredited
by the National Association for the Education of Young Children in April
2001.
The
CDC currently has 53 Non-appropriated employees and 15 Appropriated.
One has a Masters degree, 18 have BS/BA and 10 are pursuing either
their BAs or MA.

252. We accept children 6
weeks to 6 years of age (if they attend Kindergarten)

Built
in 1993 this 25,000 square foot facility is home to 19 classrooms, modern
kitchen and large employee lounge. Each
age group has its own play yard with exciting and developmentally
appropriate play equipment for the children.

Mission:
To provide a fun, safe and secure environment which promotes the
growth of children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical
development.
Accredited by the National School-Age Care
Alliance (NSACA), November 1999. Currently in the process of
reaccredidation.

Facility:
Built in 1993. It offers a full gymnasium, homework room, arts & crafts,
computer room, games room and a multi-activity room. There is ample outdoor play space with large grassy and sand
area, climbing apparatus, a
sport court, picnic pavilion and a garden plot.

has access to skating, bowling,
swimming, an indoor skateboard park, putt-putt golf, batting cages, and climbing

A
special feature of the School Age Program is our four-time award winning
theatre program. In collaboration with Eastern Washington University (EWU)
a
ten-week summer theatre arts program has been held at EWU for the past
seven years. It is a
process-oriented professional performing arts training.
During the second week of the summer we host a Specialty Camp to
train school-age staff Air Force wide.
Three years ago an after school program was implemented that meets
once a week at the elementary school on base.

Program |

Mission:
To meet the needs of the Fairchild community by providing world
class quality recreation, sports, fitness, personal development, social
programs, services, activities and events for 5-18 year old youth to
experience achievement, fun, leadership, friendship and recognition.
The Boys & Girls Club of Fairchild AFB offers a variety of
recreational programs including Air Force sponsored activities such
“Give Parents A Break” and “Parents Night Out” for the 5-12
year old age group. Special
pre-teen hours are offered for the 9-12 year olds and the Teen program has
recently acquired its own space and is providing a wide range of exciting
activities for the 13-18 year old population.
In collaboration with 4H, GROW is a recreational program housed at
Windsor Elementary school located near a military housing area
geographically separated from Fairchild AFB.
Offering a variety of weekly classes to military families as well
as families in the surrounding community. GROW was used as a model for a
21 Century Learning Grant Proposal which was used to implement educational
and recreational after school activities throughout the school district.
The
Youth Sports Program offers Basketball, Soccer, T-ball, Baseball, Flag
Football and Volleyball.
Several
instructional classes are also offered including martial arts - USA Goju
and Shotokan, Gymnastics, Dance, Guitar, Fine Arts and Theatre.

| Family Child Care

A Family Child Care home is a private home on base in which care is
provided for one or more children for more than 10 hours a week, or on a
regular basis. The purpose of
this program is to provide quality care in a warm, loving and safe
environment. It offers an
individualized program to help meet the needs of shift workers, persons
temporarily deployed, children with special needs, young infants and to
accommodate children when the Boys & Girls Club and Child Development
Center are not open.
Individual homes can be accredited by the National Association of
Family Child Care. We have one provider in the process.
We currently have 40 homes providing care for up to 240 children
ages birth through 11 years.

equipment, art supplies, science, math, and music materials.
