Overview/Mission: To contribute to the readiness of the military community and to provide a developmentally appropriate program that is both nurturing and stimulating by contributing positively to the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children.

School Age Care

Overview/Mission: Provide a developmentally appropriate program designed to support youth and their development physically, socially, cognitively, and creatively.

Capacity: 60 children, 5 – 12 years old

Facility Description: Will move into newly renovated facility in January, 2002

Youth Center
Overview/Mission: Contribute to readiness by providing opportunities for youth to develop their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, leadership, enjoyment, friendship, and recognition.

Programs: Teen Center; Congressional Award; Sports Complex; Boys and Girls Club affiliation; Youth Collaboration Project; TRAIL

Capacity: 5 – 18 years

Facility Description: Will move into newly renovated facility in January, 2002.

Special Features: Teen Center located in Community Center to provide teens a place of their own.

TRAIL Program: (Training Adolescents in Leadership) brings teens together to experience adventure based recreational activities using the outdoors as a classroom. Participants experience the opportunity to learn outdoor and leadership skills, and gain an appreciation for our natural resources. The outdoor activities also provide an excellent vehicle for teaching human relation skills, effective communication,, problem solving, conflict resolution, an more.

Family Child Care
Overview/Mission: Offers developmental childcare in licensed homes on the installation for children 2 weeks through 12 years. Program provides an alternative to group care for families desiring a home-like atmosphere for their children and the flexibility of care for shift workers.

Number of Homes: 24

Capacity: Homes are limited to the care for up to 6 children including the provider’s own children under the age of 8 years.

Special Features: Lending library; Child and Adult Food Program Sponsor; Pre-licensing brief, New Provider Orientation; Strong collaboration with off-base Resource and Referral

Community Center
Mission: To provide recreational programs for young airmen, families, and retirees.

Programs: Congressional Award, family recreational programs; programs for airmen, singles, and retirees; Family and Teen Talent Contest; Tops in Blue; Children’s Theater programs
