WOW Computer Training In Southern Idaho
On March 11th and 12th, 1999, the USWest WOW (Widening Our World) van came to teach internet classes to
after school program children and parents, local elementary students, community members,
and UI staff and faculty in southern Idaho. These classes covered internet history,
internet hardware and software, web browsers, educational web sites, and search engines.
Classes were tailored toward their respective audiences, with kids classes
containing fun children's web sites and adult classes containing more emphasis on search
engines and finding good resources on the web.
WOW instructors Matt Schoenfeldt and Aisa Jenkins gave friendly, expert seminars and
even handed out free internet training booklets and mouse pads. A total of 81
students and 16 adults received this internet training, which is given free of charge to
small communities in Idaho. If you would like the WOW van to come to your community,
send email to WOW schedule master John Olsen.
Here are a few pictures from the Gooding, Shoshone, and Dietrich seminars.
