Mission - Philosophy - Goals
Program Mission In accordance with the mission of the University of Idaho, the Coordinated Program in Dietetics exists to provide baccalaureate education for students who are seeking to become Registered Dietitians (RD).
Program Philosophy The philosophy of the University of Idaho Coordinated Program in Dietetics is to prepare decisive, knowledgeable, and highly skilled food and nutrition professionals capable of meeting the social, political, and technological challenges of society. Successful graduates will be effective communicators with various populations: patients, clients, consumers, employers, and professionals. They will be critical thinkers and knowledge seekers, networking with others in the task of life-long learning. Exposure to a variety of experiences in clinical, community, and foodservice facilities will provide students with opportunities to become creative and innovative leaders in the dietetic profession.
