Clothing, Textiles and Design

Do you watch people on the street and what they are wearing? Do you look at the labels on clothing and wonder why almost all countries are represented? Are you happiest when you are combining colors, feeling fabric, and just generally being creative? Then, a clothing, textiles and design major may be for you. Our courses will help you to explore the function and fancy clothing has played throughout history—its fundamental role in our society in defining our individual and group identities. Complementary coursework in art, business, anthropology and sociology will prepare you for careers in retailing, the apparel/textile industry, theater, and consumer affairs.
