Through a role play activity youth explore varying points of view surrounding a waste management concern. They experience the difficulty of coming to agreement when faced with differing points of views. By the end of the lesson the youth describe what makes a waste management concern an issue.
A waste management concern becomes an issue when individuals disgree about the scope, seriousness and solution(s).
