Yes, Yes I Have.

Playing the Yes, Yes I Have Game

  1. Each youth gets a copy of the YES! list and places a check by the item they have participated in. The last three lines on the sheet may be filled with other items not listed that the youth have participated in.

  2. Form a circle with chairs, with one less chair than numbe r of participants. One person begins by standing in the middle. The other youth are seated in the circle. The youth in the middle reads one item checked on her/his list. Anyone with the same item checked must stand up and switch chairs, at least three chairs away. (If no one else has the same item the youth reads additional items, until someone else has the same item.) The middle youth tries to sit down as the others are switching. Hopefully, a different youth will be left standing. the game conti nues in the same manner.

  3. Close the game with each youth sharing one item that they have participated in If time permits, the youth can share how they participated.

  4. Using a discussion format, ask the group if they know of youth in the co mmunity who are making a difference. Find a news article of postive actions youth have taken. Can they describe the action plan components in the example?
