FCS 508 Helping Skills in Family and Consumer Sciences provides an opportunity for students to hone their listening and helping skills. It is intended for graduate students in helping professions, including dietitians, FCS teachers, child and family specialists, or consumer economics counselors. The course is based on Gerard Egan’s Skilled Helper model of counseling. Class sessions include lecture, discussion, role-playing, and feedback on role-plays and student videotapes.
