Early Childhood Development and Education
Students will take courses from the general education core, education core, education methods, child development and family relations, and special education. They will complete practica in settings for infants and toddlers, preschoolers, and primary grade children. Completion of this program will prepare students to meet the required standards for eligibility for the Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education Blended Certificate and become teachers of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children kindergarten through grade three.
Children’s development research illuminates the critical care and education needs of young children. With this recognized, the need for additional teachers of young children is on the rise. Certified graduates would be employed in public and private schools, programs such as Head Start, and infant toddler programs associated with Health and Welfare.
